Recently, a highly efficient type of light bulb has emerged on the market at an affordable price. Compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs can take the place of the more traditional incandescent lamps that are common in most homes. They produce the same amount of light at a much lower wattage, thus reducing energy consumption (and costs) by up to 75%. Replacing your incandescent light bulbs with CFL bulbs may have a larger upfront cost, but over time, will save you money.
